DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION

I value equality, diversity, creativity, and quality of work which I think really allowed me to shine on this course, as all of which was accepted and applied to my time at PCA. I was urged to explore topic areas without restrictions or complaints. I was given creative freedom and opportunities to work with others as well as targeted briefs which challenged you and also gave you experiences that will help you in the future.

I was given opportunities to learn camera work, lighting and sound. Worked with video, sets, and an abundance of different media.

FINAL PROJECT

The final project concept was based on Alice in Wonderland, creating an animated storybook from the sketches all the way to the post-production. Using After Effects to create the animations. I drew inspiration from puppetry and pop up books, and wanted to format it in a digital media product and bring the story of Alice in Wonderland back in a way that hasn't been done before.

TV SHOW CONCEPT TRAILER

What was originally just storyboards became a concept for an animated opening sequence.

It was an artistic style experiment and a visually moving storyboard for my opening sequence that was going to be utilised as an opening sequence for my final piece but felt the drastic difference in artistic styles would not have worked well.  It was another opportunity to have a go at editing and animating in after effects.

This was something I always wanted to do and heavily differentiated from everything I have done artistically and created something from scratch as an individual who edits primarily utilising other material.

I took the photos, envisioned the visuals & storyboarded, edited and created the logo. Finally editing it all together as a final concept opening sequence for an Alice in Wonderland TV show.

A task was the concept of possible futures.

I wanted to address world issues such as abortion debates and a possible future of abortion banning, especially in America, and how it would look and appear if it was illegalised, based of factual and put forward ideas.

The aim was to make a 'realistic but heavily sarcastic' advertisement to show the heaviness of this possible law enforcement.

SMALL PROJECT: REDESIGN

I helped a friend of mine at university in re-drawing concept draft images that he crafted for his animated visual piece. I saw, as an artist, if he needed help and I tried to re-draw his own designs in higher and better quality. He was struggling in using a digital drawing pad. I was able to use my digital drawing skills to help him.

My test draft was in order to find what changes and adaptations that would need to be made, play with depth and experiment with the look of my final piece and matching it to the look that I envisioned in my head.

I based it off the Arthurian legend of King Arthur and thought of ideas for smaller animations within the video such as a castle flag or a dragon.

LYRIC VIDEOS: FREE CLIENT PROJECT

I was given a client brief to create drafts of lyric videos for two of his song's for which I was provided a draft of his music. The two themes of the songs was 'The Knight's Templars'  & a romantic song. I wanted both videos to be completely different in terms of style and aesthetic.  I complied to styling suggestions and corrections and the errors of the client.
